    [REL] Eternal Youth Mod

    Always Back Up Files Before Editing Them

    Credit: Based entirely on chant's "Another Immortality Mod"

    For quick install see attached file, but please note that this version was made with patch 4.1 and overriding CityPingHour.lua may override some changes in later patches. It seems unlikely, but it's possible.

    Note: In order to activate this mod you have to add the following under [GAME] in your config.ini file, which is in the default directory.

    Code:
    CHEAT_Immortal = 1
    CHEAT_ImmortalAge = 21
    To deactivate the mod, simply change the 1 to a 0.

    To manually add the immortality mod, simply ho to \Scripts\City\ and open CityPingHour.lua

    Under
    Code:
    local Level = CityGetLevel("")
    add
    Code:
    local CHEAT_Immortal = GetSettingNumber("GAME", "CHEAT_Immortal", 0)
    Under
    Code:
    citypinghour_CheckCrimes()
    Add
    Code:
    if CHEAT_Immortal then
    	citypinghour_SetPlayerDynastyImmortal()
    end
    Add the following at the very end
    Code:
    function SetPlayerDynastyImmortal()

    	GetLocalPlayerDynasty("dynasty")
    	local iCount = DynastyGetFamilyMemberCount("dynasty")
    	local CHEAT_ImmortalAge = GetSettingNumber("GAME", "CHEAT_ImmortalAge", 18)

    	local iIndex
    	local iCIndex
    	local DynAge
    	local iChildCount

    	local SimArray

    	for iIndex = 0, iCount-1 do

    		if DynastyGetFamilyMember("dynasty", iIndex, "member") then
    			DynAge = SimGetAge( "member" )
    			LogMessage("DynAge: "..DynAge..".")
    			if DynAge > CHEAT_ImmortalAge then
    				SimSetAge( "member" ,CHEAT_ImmortalAge)
    			end
    		end
    	end
    end

    I must be doing something wrong...
    I've applied this new file in place of the legacy file and added the two lines in the config.ini under [game].

    I fire up a game and play a few years and my characters continue to age. They are now ~43 with no signs of bumping back to 21.

    Can anyone confirm this is working or suggest some detail I may have missed?

    Thanks ahead of time!

    Sorry mods aren't save game compatible so you have to start a new game to get any effect. I have to say it would be neat if there were some save game patcher that could force mods to work with save games, but I'm not sure how that would work.

    How do you open these files to mod them?

    You need WinRar or WinZip to unpack the download, but you can open and edit the lua and dbt files yourself with text editor or note pad.

    Would this be compatible with the latest patch?

    Yes, but you will have to edit it manually just in case the CityPingHour.lua has been modified in the new patch. I will be checking out the new patch in a while though, will update you on this, as well as update the compatibility of the mods that I have posted.

    Hey, can you show me how to make a reputation mod? I know this is an old thread, but I'm hoping someone is still around.

    So.. I would really like to download it, but how do I do that? Can't seem to find any link. Is it just me?
